On the 19th July 2021, all remaining lockdown restrictions were lifted.
You can now travel freely between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, unless you have to self-isolate because you have Covid symptoms or have tested positive.
For England, Scotland and Wales there is no longer a requirement for social distancing, and no limits as to how many people can stay together in holiday accommodation. In Northern Ireland some restrictions still apply.
Restrictions on travel overseas has placed a high demand on the UK holiday sector, so booking early is essential.
In proceeding with caution, we continue to operate some of our Covid operating standards. These are set out below and supersede some of our standard terms and conditions.
The standard of cleaning at Stay has always been exceptionally high, but we’ve taken this further to disinfecting and sanitising the property for each holiday party.
This is being carried out methodically and diligently, which in turn takes more time and attracts an additional cleaning charge of £50, for as long as we see this extra precaution being required.
Whilst we’ve previously offered mid-stay cleans to guests booking Stay for more than a week, we’ve temporarily suspended this service to negate the need for our turnaround team to enter the property with guests in occupation.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
In order to provide our turnaround staff with the additional cleaning time they need whilst Covid remains prevalent, guests will be unable to access Stay until 6pm on the day of their arrival and must vacate by 9am on their day of departure.
Once cleaned, the property is sanitised through a fogging process which needs to remain undisturbed for a period of time thereafter.
Previously we’ve worked hard at accommodating requests for early arrivals or late departures, but for the time being this may not be possible and we appreciate your understanding of this.
A FEW LESS HOME COMFORTS
We’ve always taken pleasure in equipping Stay in a way that provides our guests with true ‘home from home’ comfort, but those returning to Stay may notice that we’ve removed some items that encourage regular handling, such as toys, books, board games and comfort blankets.
We’ve also had to remove condiments, herbs and spices, as it’s not possible to safely disinfect these food items between parties.
To negate the need for our turnaround team to handle used towels and bed linen, we ask that departing guests put their used linen in the bags provided.
Similarly we ask that departing guests bag all general waste and place them securely in the bins at the front of Stay.
We have various trades involved with the maintenance of Stay who remain on-hand to deal with any problems our guests may face during their stay.
In current times however, our Property Manager will triage any maintenance issues reported, and to minimise risk may choose to defer a remedial visit until after your departure if the issue is considered non-essential.
This is of course for the protection of all parties, and again we appreciate your understanding.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
Guests having booked directly with the owners of Stay, either through this website or our referral listing on cornishsecrets.co.uk will receive a full and prompt refund of all monies paid, should any of the following events prevent the members of your party from attending Stay on your planned arrival date:
- Official Government guidance preventing travel into the area.
- Official Government guidance preventing the members of your party from travelling outside of their home town(s).
- Official Government guidance preventing overnight stays or holiday travel in general.
Where cancellations are made for any other reason, the refund policy in our standard terms and conditions will apply.
Those having booked Stay through an alternative platform such as Trip Advisor / Holiday Lettings or Vrbo / HomeAway will have made the booking under the terms of these operators, of which the owners of Stay have no control.
If you have booked with these providers, you should contact them in the event of having to cancel your booking and they will in turn contact us. In this instance we will instruct them to issue a full refund of all monies paid, providing one or more of the above Government-led restrictions applies.
Whilst these platform operators have been issuing full refunds where holidays have had to be cancelled due to Government-imposed restrictions, we must reiterate that we can only advise them that we are happy for you to be refunded and have no control over whether they choose to do so.
